Class 9600, No. 9633 was manufactured at the Kawasaki Shipbuilding Co. it's manufactured number was 1769 during 1914. And she was moved to Hokkaido after WW2.

After that, 9633 was active on the western Hokkaido Iwanai and Hakodate lines etc ..... In 1961, she was moved to Otaru-Chikko depot, and was active in yard works until she was moved to Umekoji.

During 1967, 9633 was staged on NHK's soap opera " Tabiji " (Journey), and was to become a famous engine. 9633 was picked from a crowd of other contenders of class 9600, for that reason.
On 28 March 1979, 9633 was dropped as a working condition engine.
