Kubiki Railway Museum

(Kubiki Tetudo Tenji Siryokan)

Kubiki No.2 her active service time. Seibu Yamaguchi line during 1972.

Kubiki Railway was the 5.9 Km narrow gauged railway at Naoetsu city, and it was closed on the 2nd of May 1971.
Kubiki Railway's No.2 steam engine was retired during May 1966, and was preserved at the front of Kubiki-Jidosya Co. head-office building. During June 1972, she was restored and was transferred to Yamaguchi line on the Seibu Railway, and saw service until 1977. After her service was closed, she was returned to her home town of Kubiki and was preserved at the Kubiki Railway Museum.

Akazawa Logging Railroad

(Akazawa Shinrin Tetudo)

Visitors can enjoy a thrilling
logging railway trip.

Kiso logging railway, which opened in 1916, was replaced by truck transportation, and the railway was closed during May of 1975. Later, the Akazawa section of the railway was restarted as a sightseeing railway during 1987.
The preserved steam engine No.1 located in the Akazawa museum, was the last imported engine to Japan from Baldwin Locomotives. (Manufactured No.60874, during June 1929)
